I've had so many questions about the type of work that a Marriage and Family Therapist does. Is it JUST for couples? Do you only see married people? What is your work with individuals like?

Marriage and Family Therapists (aka MFTs) are trained in systemic, relational therapy and believe that throughout life we exist in a number of relationships that directly and indirectly impact our well-being. Our relationships with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors influence and create our individual experience.

Trained in psychoteherapy and family systems, MFTs focus on understanding their clients' symptons and interaction patterns within their existing environment. In my practice, I treat predominantly individuals and couples, but also provide family and adolescent/ young adult therapy. I treat from a relationship perspective that incorporates family systems.
